On Friday 28th & Saturday 29th October, Gloria Jean’s Coffees are helping children with special needs, by donating 50c from every cappuccino to Variety, the children’s charity. This year, we are aiming to raise $150,000 to fund three brand new Variety Sunshine Coaches and two Liberty Swings. With support from ex- football star, Mario Fenech, Australian cricketer, Nathan Bracken and Miss World Australia, 2010, Ashleigh Francis, Cappuccino for a Cause is set to be our biggest one yet!
With your support, we’ll be purchasing three Sunshine Coaches to help students with special needs at schools in Caringbah, NSW, Plumpton, NSW and Victoria. These coaches allow children with special needs to travel with their peers and classmates to excursions and school trips.
Further, we are purchasing two Liberty Swings for communities in Toowoomba, QLD and Balga, WA. Liberty Swings are a revolutionary new concept in playground swing equipment, enabling children in wheelchairs to enjoy the fun and recreation of swinging. For most of us, childhood visits to our local playgrounds are cherished memories, but many children in wheelchairs have not enjoyed the simple pleasure of swinging through the air and feeling weightless. Through the Variety Liberty Wheelchair swing program, children in wheelchairs no longer miss out on the pure fun and exhilaration of swinging.
