Pooja, 12 years old, lives on the streets of India. Her parents try to earn money by making bamboo baskets, but with no proper shelter they barely make ends meet.

Financially the family could not afford to send Pooja to school. She received an opportunity to attend a government school but she was ridiculed by the other children for not being clean and her family couldn’t afford to buy her the books she needed. As a result Pooja eventually became a school drop-out. She became a part of Vision Rescue teaching program, supported by With Heart and after two years attendance and much persuasion, her family decided to send her back to school. Along with Pooja several other children were enrolled to the same school as a result of our teaching program. Now she is an excited student who has big dreams for the future.
