How we help

Gloria Jean's Coffees' guests. team members and Franchise Partners have raised over $2 million to help build and change lives, since 2009. These funds have been raised through various campaigns, events and the amazing commitment of our guests and partners across Australia.

Cappuccino for a Cause – helping Australian children with special needs

Cappuccino for a Cause is  our major fundraising initiative spearheaded by With Heart and has been running for nine years. In the last four years alone, Cappuccino for a Cause has raised over $650,000  for charities such as the Children’s Hospital Foundation Australia and Variety – the Children’s Charity.

Throughout the month of October we raise funds through merchandise and food sales and donation box collections. The campaign culminates in our Cappuccino for a Cause two-day event, where we donate 50 cents from every cappuccino sold to our partnering charity.

With Heart and Variety - the children’s charity

Since 2011, With Heart has partnered with Variety - The children’s charity, raising more than half a million dollars for some of Australia’s most deserving children. The money raised from Cappuccino for a Cause has given hundreds of Variety children the opportunity to enjoy what many take for granted – mobility, freedom and independence.

The money raised to date has gone towards the awarding of scholarships for well-deserving children in the areas of music, art, sport and dance. The donation of six Sunshine Coaches, four Liberty Swings, a number of specialised equipment for children in need. The new coaches are used to transport children to school and community events.

Variety - the Children’s Charity, is a national not-for-profit organisation that seeks to empower children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs.

Variety shares our strong belief in people, building and changing lives. In the same way that each cup of coffee brings a moment of joy and happiness to our guests, so too, Variety brings joy to thousands of special Australian children in need.

Helping children at Christmas

Each year we seek to make Christmas special for children in need. We know that for some children, Christmas is a time of missing out. They do not know the delight of presents under a tree or playing with new toys. In partnership with our guests, we help bring the joy of Christmas through dedicating the funds raised in our donation boxes nationwide towards helping children in need, here in Australia and also in developing nations.

In 2011 and 2012, we donated $20,000 each year towards Variety Christmas Parties held across Australia, giving more than 20,000 children a Christmas to remember with a special gift from Santa, and an exciting day of activities, rides, face-painting, food and entertainment. We also assisted by providing our coffee carts, serving free coffee by our support office team to parents, teachers, guardians and volunteers.

In 2013, we provide coffee carts at the Variety Christmas Party held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre, manned by our faithful support office team serving free cappuccinos, lattes and hot chocolates to 5000 guests!

Charity Golf Days – helping Special Olympics Australia

Special Olympics Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that inspires people with an intellectual disability to reach their personal best through sport and competition.

From 2011 to 2013, we have been proud to partner with Special Olympics Australia to help change the lives of people with an intellectual disability and have raised in excess of $120,000.

Helping children living in poverty

As a global company with a presence in over 40 nations, we believe it is our duty to reach beyond the shores of Australia and give back to nations where we source our coffee. Since 2004 (prior to With Heart being founded in 2009), Gloria Jean's Coffees commenced  sponsorship of children living in developing nations through our partnership with Compassion Australia. Our sponsorship provided children living in India and  Brazil with nutritious food, education, healthcare and ongoing support and care. We have also supported community projects helping indigenous Australian children, an orphanage in Kampala Uganda, a child survival program in India, street children living in the slums of Mumbai India and a community water station in the Philippines. Over the past 10 years we have helped over 1000 children be released from poverty through our charity partnerships with Compassion Australia, Opportunity International and Vision Rescue.
