Doing business the more sustainable way

Here at Gloria Jean’s Coffees, we like to do business in a more sustainable way, where we take responsibility for the impact of our actions on society and the environment. It's part of our quest to become a truly sustainable business where we have a positive effect on the world around us.

We’re proud that our coffee promotes sustainable farming, better conditions for farmers and a healthier environment. And we are proud of our ongoing collaboration with the Rainforest Alliance for which we were awarded the Corporate Green Globe Award, which recognised our extraordinary commitment to furthering sustainability. We were the first Australian company to receive the award.

We are also focused on reducing our environmental impact. We are a signatory of the Australian Government’s National Packaging Covenant (NPC) and have action plans in place to reduce the impact of our packaging on the environment.

Sourcing our beans

We take our coffee very seriously at Gloria Jean’s Coffees, so not only does it taste great, but we also make sure we buy from suppliers that look after both their workers and the environment.

Our coffee beans are sourced from all over the world and from many different farms of all types and sizes - large plantations, co-operative groups and tiny family farms. This means that there is no one size fits all approach to buying responsibly, but we are focused on promoting sustainable farming and a better outcome for all.

Gloria Jean’s Coffees is working with the Rainforest Alliance to offer a large variety of coffee blends containing beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. Our entire line of coffees, including regular and decaffeinated, contain a percentage of beans from certified farms. That means that when you drink Gloria Jean’s Coffees you are helping to improve the lives of farm families, wildlife, and the environment.
